Radio has come to Clayton

A local 4042.com feature

[4/26/05)

There is a new sound coming out of Clayton and it is on 1630 AM.  Clayton Radio is up and running, catering to the community with easy listening music of all genres and local information.  The purpose of Clayton Radio is to inform Clayton residents of local business', community events, benefits, BBQ's and etc.   All non-profit events have on air coverage free of charge.

There are three primary personalities you can catch at the station which is located on Main Street in Clayton beside
True Love Travel.  The on-air staff is made up of Jennifer Stanley, Earl Jones and the Program Director is Dave Gormas.  If you have tried to listen from the 4042 area and found static, that is soon to be history.  The station just received a state of the art transmitter from Europe which is in the process of being installed.

Although the station plays a compilation of music, including local talent, the main focus of the station is the community.  There are local business interviews, school information, and town history.  There are a number of different programs going on at any given time, if you listen between 8pm and 12 pm you will hear Free Talk Live which is a talk show based on the news with some comedy.  On Saturdays from 9am-11am there is a Car Talk program and Home Improvement Talk is on between 3pm and 4pm.  If you tune in on Sundays from 8am-9am you will hear Health Talk, Old Time Comedy between 11am-12pm and Animal Talk from 1pm-3pm for all you animal lovers out there.

Whatever you are looking for, Clayton Radio has it!  Anyone interested in advertising should contact Jennifer Stanley at #320-5973.  Commercials start as low as $7.50 for 10-30 second commercials, $20 for 1-5 minute commercials and $75 to host your own program.  Clayton Radio also invites local artist to drop by their music (must be clean) for on-air play.

Of course, what radio station would be complete without the request line?  If you would like to make a request you can call #341-2630 or you can just leave feedback and let them know what a great job they are doing at #341-5787.

Clayton Radio stated that their goal is for every business in Clayton to play this station during the day.  It is customer friendly, and because it is localized they can hear themselves and their neighbors on the radio.
