Gator Pays a Visit to Clayton Residence

A local 4042.com feature

[5/18/02)

A juvenile alligator paid a suprise visit to the home of LoriAnn and Jesse Stretch, owners of etc. (Exceptional Tutoring and Coaching), late yesterday evening. Officers of the Clayton Police Department responded promptly when Animal Control was summoned.

The young gator, aproximately 16 inches long, was quickly apprehended and taken by Clayton Rescue to a new home at a museum in Raleigh. Clayton Police Officers believe the little reptile was an errant and illegal pet. It was never determined in what subject the gator sought tutoring

Update! (5/23/02)

The gator was collected by the Wildlife Commision to be released in an estuary within NC's natural gator habitat range. Seems the NC Museum of Natural
Sciences in Raleigh already has several gators.
