Finishing up her final year competing, the State Games
were likely the last competitive meet for Jamie. She states that she "had the best performance of my life at State Games this year and met every personal goal that I had planned for the 2000 competitive season. I never gave up on anything, no matter how hard a skill was, I would learn it and perfect it.
I've learned to be my own coach, and my own motivator, and receiving the Sportsmanship award helped to clarify all that I have worked for both for myself and for other
gymnast around me, and how other people have seen that character trait being exposed by me."
