Fred Huebner is one of the top McDonald's Lapel Pin collectors in the world. Collecting lapel pins for approximately twenty years, Fred has quite a collection. He has over 14,000 different lapel pins
and some 70,000 extras. Each lapel pin has a different story. Of course, Fred gives away and sells his extras. Each month Fred gives a new McDonald's Lapel pin to his 425 employees. Special recognition lapel pins are given to employees for work achievements as well. Such as "Perfect Drawer", "Drive Thru Service", "Fast Feet" and many more.
Fred & Doris Huebner, are the Owner/Operators of most of the McDonald's in
our area - 10 to be exact. The Huebners own 4 locations in Garner, one in Fuquay Varina, Newton Grove, Benson, Clayton, 40/42 and they have just taken over and renovated the McDonald's on old 70 Bypass in Smithfield. Fred Huebner has been with McDonald's Corporation for 29 years. Until recently, the Huebners' worked and ran their restaurants out of an office inside the Clayton McDonald's. With only 100 square feet of space, Fred had his collection of lapel pins in his
home. Since moving to their new much larger location (4500 square feet), on Glen Road, Fred's lapel pin collection now decorates the halls, training room, and his office - well just about everywhere!
This amazing
McDonald's Lapel Pin collection includes pins from every Olympics since the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics to the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Fred designs some of the pins himself. McDonald's has 40 regions in the country and each region comes up with ideas for their Regional Pins. Mount Rushmore to former President Clinton
to Jurassic Park, Ben Franklin, Tiger Woods, Letterman and even the Beatles, you wouldn't believe how many pins this collector owns. McDonald's Lapel pins are the most outstanding of Fred's pin collection, however you can also see Coke, Nascar and NFL pin sets.
Fred & Doris Huebner, along with being successful McDonald's owners are also volunteers. This year the couple Co-Chaired McDonald's All American Game, held at Duke's Cameron Indoor Stadium.
