Whew!  Where to start?  We've been working on putting together an update of local information and it seems like something new pops up around here every day!  Hang on tight while we run through our list of business openings and few rumors to keep it all interesting!

First of all, for those who haven't been by in the past week, the new and improved D. R. Wells Cleveland Emporium is open for business!  Gotta love those new gas pumps outside and the same community spirit and service inside!

Now lets toss in a RUMOR!  Please note, this is unconfirmed, but is making the rounds on the local grapevine.  Here's the deal...start at 40/42 and drive toward Clayton on 42.  Take a right turn on Cornwallis.  See that sign advertising the guard dog training?  Ok, now as you drive by, take a look over to the right at the empty land there.  The story is that 250 acres exist there with a planned footprint that will hold 900 new homes!!  (Yeah, our jaw dropped too!  Remember, keep telling yourself..."it's a rumor, it's a rumor.")  The developer for this is said to be Centex Homes.

Wasn't it Joe Tex that had that song back in the 70's called "I Feel Like Bustin' Loose?"   Well, in any case, busting loose is what is happening at Peddler's Village right on 42!  New openings - Monkey Ink, Tattoo and Body Piercing.   We'll be checking to see if they have gift certificates available....the mother-in-law is sooooo hard to buy for!

You can ponder what tattoo design to get over a cup of coffee or a cappuccino in the new Grape Vine Coffee Cafe.  Operated by Unforgettable Catering, we hear you'll be able to get your favorite Java creations along with wraps, sandwiches, etc.  Rumor also has it that it will be a WiFi hotspot for all you wireless Internet travelers, provided by QRO Wireless.

And our third new entry at Peddler's Village is A1 Computer Service. Sorry - that's all we have right now...we're guessing they work on computers.

Rumor, fact....rumor, fact....hmmmm...RUMOR!! Lots of activity on Glen Road coming up (allegedly!).  First of all, right across from Medicap Pharmacy (we love that place because we can refill prescriptions online!) at the corner of Glen and Mast, we hear BB&T will be sprouting up with a new branch. 

Drive a little further down Glen Rd. and you'll be passing the water tower.  Slow down and look at that empty space to the right.  RUMOR! A new subdivision will be going into that area - we hear 520 homesites.  Want more?? How about this...yet MORE homes to be going in at the end of Glen Rd. - 280 homes with soccer fields.  (For reference, if you are at the end of Glen Road where it intersects with Cleveland School Rd., look straight ahead.  That's the area to be developed.)

Back to reality, we have a couple of new openings that have already been talked about and gotten high marks in the 4042.com Discussion Group.  Facing Technology Drive is FutureMan Fitness  and next door is Up and Away Indoor Play

Rezoning request on Cleveland Road, next to Shiloh Baptist Church - request is to rezone from agricultural to general business.

And jumping across Hwy 42 one more time, we'll wrap things up by having you stand in front of Diamond's and Gold Direct (located in the Credit Union building) and looking across Commerce Parkway.  You'll see construction well underway for additional flex office/retail space.  And the growth continues.....
