The 4042.com Web Dog has been hot on the trail of this story for months and has finally dug up the details for you!  Always on the prowl, the Web Dog's sources have informed him that CONEC, a leading producer of connectors for the electronic and communications industry, will be moving their current Morrisville, NC operation to 40/42.

CONEC develops, produces and markets connectors worldwide and plans to operate from Phase 1 of the CONEC High Technology Park, which they will construct on land adjacent to Mebane Packaging.  The initial plans for the park are for 10 interconnected 4,000 sq. ft. buildings.

Each unit will be air conditioned and include office and manufacturing space and can be divided into 2,000 sq. ft. spaces, ideal for startup operations.  It is expected that the facility will act as a magnet for other growth and development. 

The front of the industrial park will face I-40 and is planned to have extensive landscaping, lawns and ponds to project a professional image.  Once Phase I has been completed and occupied, a second phase is planned which would double the size of the facility to 80,000 sq. ft.  With emphasis on being a "high technology park", CONEC will be selective in the types of businesses that locate in the facility.  No heavy duty manufacturing, auto repair, stamping, plating, metal forming or molding operations will be allowed.  According to the company, CONEC "prides itself as being a clean industrial company that does not contaminate soil, water and air."
