Holiday events are in full swing in the Cleveland community, including the lighting of the Chamber's Christmas tree. It's on display in front of First Citizens at 40/42.We checked out the Cleveland Elementary PTA's Santa Workshop, held this past Saturday. Hope you made it by, because they had an impressive display of craft and gift vendors, plus lots of
activities, including photos with Santa. Go ahead and mark your calendar for next year and check out the PTA web site for details on their activities.Clayton's Premier Cheerleading, operating in their Anna Place location off of Hwy 42, recently placed well in a National Championship
competition in Winston Salem. The Senior Shockette Dance team finished with a First Place National Championship. Premier's Senior Coed Cheerleading Squad also brought home a National Championship Title. Premier Junior Coed Shockers placed second, only a few points from the National Title! Busy Businesses! Quiet a bit going on at the 'ol 40/42! First, let's cover a couple of closings. We noticed that Dollar World
is no more! The place is entirely empty. Next to them, Diamonds & Gold is holding a "MOVING - Everything Must Go!" sale. Rumor has it that they will be occupying a spot in the new Ashley Turner building, which is nearing completion. And you've probably seen the signs for Nana's Attic, located in Peddler's Village. They are announcing that they are going out of business. Andy's Cheesteaks & Cheeseburgers
celebrated their Grand Opening this past weekend at their 40/42 location with gifts and rides for the kids. Hanging out their signs announcing that they are "on the way" is Mike's Dry Cleaning, in Commerce Park (the new strip center behind Peddler's Village) and a Party Supply Shop! Looks like you'll be able to get everything you need to setup a party in one place...it's going to be located next to Salon 42, across from The Clubhouse Restaurant at 40/42.
RUMOR ALERT!! The Web Dog tells us that the word on the street is that a new newspaper may be coming to the Cleveland area! Published by the same group that produces the Garner Times? We'll tell you more as we hear it! (Got a scoop on this or other happenings locally? Drop us a line, or tell everyone about it here!)
