{mosimage}Three artists will display a variety of artwork in July at The Clayton Center located at 111 East 2nd Street in downtown Clayton. Juliann Butcher of Clayton, David Crews of Raleigh and Phil Pyle of Clayton are the artists for the July exhibit, sponsored by Clayton Visual Arts.
A reception for the artists, their friends and family and local residents will be held Thursday, July 10, 6-7:30 p.m. in the lobby.
{mosimage} Butcher enjoys photographing her family, and all the wonders of nature found in her backyard and throughout North Carolina. Crews is primarily a landscape painter working in both oil and watercolor. Pyle began drawing comic book characters more than 40 years ago and recently resumed his interest in this art form.{mosimage}Clayton Visual Arts is a group of volunteers supporting art and art programs in Clayton and is partly funding by a grant from the Town of Clayton. Meetings are held at noon on the first Tuesday of each month in the Green Room at The Clayton Center. New members are welcome. Call Larry Strevig at 550-8934 for more information.
