{mosimage}Trudy Vinson, a fourth grade teacher at Selma Elementary School, has been named Employee of the Month for March 2008. Ms. Vinson's nomination characterized her as a "master teacher." It further reads:
"She has served as a 4th grade teacher at SES for over 33 years now, and even though she will retire in June, she is steadfastly leading our teachers as both the 4th grade PLC chair and a math instructional strategies mentor for our 5th grade team, a responsibility that she assumed last year as well when our third grade team experienced a similar need. Ms. Vinson is the consummate master teacher with an unparalleled passion for children and learning that transcends the classroom. In fact, at least three of her former students are now teachers themselves. She is well deserving of this special recognition, particularly as her retirement is forthcoming."- In partnership with Carolina Pottery, Johnston County Schools salutes Ms. Vinson for:
- Demonstrating excellence on the job
- Exhibiting a "teamwork" attitude
- Making a significant contribution to the school, school district, employees, students and/or the community
- Enthusiastically supporting the mission of Johnston County Schools
Vinson was recognized at the March Board of Education meeting. She received a balloon bouquet, a $50 gift certificate from Carolina Pottery, and an appreciation certificate from Johnston County Schools. Her photo will be displayed at Central Services and at her school.
