In celebration of the beginning of the Christmas season, the annual Christmas tree lighting and festivities in downtown Benson will take place on Friday December 7 from 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM. The tree, donated by Adam's Christmas Trees will be lit at 6:30 PM, with the help of Little Miss Benson, Calesie Godwin.
The Benson Elementary School Chorus and Little Miss Benson will provide music for the ceremony at Benton Square. Shortly after the tree is lit, the parade will begin and Santa will arrive by a horse drawn carriage sponsored by Dunn-Benson Ford. Free trolley rides will be available. Main Street trees will be lit and luminaries will line Benton Square. There will be entertainment, food vendors, free gifts and visits with Santa near Jenny’s Sweet Creations.
