"Once again we are extremely pleased with the growth we have seen in our historic downtown district," states Chris Johnson, Executive Director of the Downtown Smithfield Development Corporation. "With our position as the County Seat, closer proximity to Raleigh and the Triangle due to the new section of US 70 and our location on the I-95 corridor, we have long felt that Smithfield would be on the front end of the economic recovery. With the opening of another business, those feelings have become reality."
