{mosimage}{mosimage}Johnston County District Attorney Susan I. Doyle, in an effort to recognize and thank law enforcement officers, implemented a program to publicly honor a Johnston County officer each month for their hard work and dedication to the citizens of Johnston County. Doyle stated, "Our officers do invaluable work to protect our community; however, they rarely get thanked or recognized. This award is a way for my office to express our appreciation for the tireless and dangerous work that these men and women do on a daily basis."

Doyle presented the September 2014 Johnston County Officer of the Month Award to Danny Johnson, a Captain with the Johnston County Sheriff's Office. Doyle stated, "Captain Danny Johnson is a supervisor who has the utmost respect from Sheriff's Office employees, the District Attorney's Office, judges, clerks and all other courthouse personnel. He is also respected by so many people outside of the courthouse walls. Captain Johnson does a tremendous job to ensure that the Sheriff's Office runs efficiently, and he often functions as a liaison between my office and the Sheriff's Office. My staff places complete trust in Captain Johnson and knows that any task we ask him to do will be handled in a timely and professional manner. We have great admiration for Captain Johnson."

Captain Johnson has worked with the Johnston County Sheriff's Office for 14 years. He is the Captain over the patrol division and supervises four squads of Deputies, Sergeants and Lieutenants. He currently resides in the Smithfield area with his wife and two children.
