Owen, a 14-year-old from the Brogden community, recently published his book, which shares his experiences living with cerebal palsy. The book signing generated more than $700, which Daughtry donated to the Partnership to Build a Miracle project in Johnston County. Daughtry, a student at Princeton School, said he hoped his book will serve as encouragement to other kids with special needs. "I wanted to let other kids know that everyone is special in their own way," he said.

The Partnership to Build a Miracle is a collaboration of the Miracle League of Johnston County, the Partnership for Children of Johnston County, and surrounding communities to build Johnston County's first baseball field for children with special needs and inclusive outdoor park for children of all abilities to play together.

Daughtry said his favorite part of his book is where he talks about the importance of his faith. "I couldn't do anything without God," he said.{mosimage}
