Cleveland Residents Take First Steps To Establish Civitan Club

A local 4042.com feature

Meeting for the first time at the Cleveland Campus of Johnston Community College (May 16th), Cleveland residents came together to begin the process of establishing a local Civitan Club.

Following opening remarks by
Ray Murphy (Club Builder), the group was addressed by Wood Middleton, President-Elect of the Raleigh Civitan Club.  The Raleigh club is sponsoring the charter effort in our area, and Middleton provided information about the structure of local clubs and their operation.

Also in attendance from the Raleigh Civitans was Roger Honeycutt, club Secretary.  He outlined the district and international operations of the Civitans.

To charter a new club requires 25 initial members and meetings will be held weekly to move toward this goal.  Those interested in forming the Cleveland Civitan club are encouraged to attend the next meeting and bring a friend.
