facebook Share on Facebook BusinessWeek Magazine has ranked Clayton among the nation's top ten when it comes to affordable places to live and for children to receive a top-notch education. The magazine gave Clayton schools an average rating of 9.3 out of 10. The article singled out Riverwood Middle and Elementary School as well as East Clayton Elementary as the area's best. Riverwood Middle's Principal, Phil Lee, says, "By hiring people who are excellent teachers who really care about kids and really make a difference, that's the difference. That's when you can get the kinds of successes we've been able to get." The magazine also declares Clayton has the combination of good schools in an affordable area. The average home price is just over $200,000. Lee said those factors make a difference. "When you get the kind of school you want then you find the house you want so I think schools play a big part in terms of where people want to live," said Lee. Clayton really does have it all: home affordability and great schools.
