The Johnston County Public Health Department is closely monitoring the H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu) situation. We are receiving support and information through our daily briefings from the State Division of Public Health, the Department of Public Instruction, and the Office of Emergency Management Services.
Citizens who may have questions about the H1N1 flu are encouraged to visit one of the following websites: www.johnstonnc.com/health, www.cdc.gov./swineflu, or www.ncpublichealth.com. A website sharing key facts about the H1N1 flu can be found at www.cdc.gov/swineflu/key_facts.htm. The websites are updated frequently and provide the most recent information. You may also contact the CARE LINE which the State of North Carolina has established to answer your questions. The CARE LINE number is 1-800-662-7030 and the TTY number is 1-877-452-2514. Citizens are encouraged to follow the normal precautions in reducing the spread of colds or flu such as washing your hands frequently with soap and hot water, cover your coughs and sneezes with tissues or the inside of your elbow, dispose of tissues properly and stay away from people who are sick. This situation continues to evolve and we will monitor and keep you abreast of any local changes.
