{mosimage}Seven-year-old Jordan Dundon's wish to direct the West Johnston Marching Band came true Friday night at the West Johnston vs. Holly Springs football game. Jordan is shown here with drum major Phillip Franklin directing West's fight song after a touchdown by West Johnston.

{mosimage} The McGee's Elementary student has been "directing" the band from his seat in the stands since football season began. Jordan's sister Heather is a freshman in the West Johnston guard. As a special honor, Jordan's wish to direct the band was granted by director Lance Britt. On Friday night September 21, in full uniform, Jordan climbed up the stairs onto the director's stand and proudly directed his favorite band. The West Johnston Marching Band will be marching in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2008 minus Jordan, but look for him in ten years to lead the band once again.
