{mosimage}Ramson Higgins, a sixth grader at McGee's Crossroads Middle School, recently donated a new American flag to his school and community. "I noticed the flag had a tear in it and I thought we should have a new one." said Higgins. After raising the money through family and friends, Higgins and his mom ordered the new flag. A flag dedication ceremony was held with principal Barretta Haynes and sixth grade teacher Ross Anderson, who oversees raising and lowering the flag at the school. Higgins read a short poem and then donated the flag to the school. Higgins' mom Suzanne Mierow stated, "I am very proud of him for even noticing the flag needed to be replaced and Mr. Anderson has done a fantastic job of raising awareness with his students."
