The Downtown Smithfield Development Corporation and the Smithfield Parks and Recreation will host the 10th annual "Friends of the 4th" Fireworks Celebration at the Historical Smithfield Town Commons on Smithfield, July 4, 2009.

Beginning at 5:00 pm, the scheduled afternoon and evening festival will be filled with games, and musical entertainment for the entire family.  The "Friends of the 4th" celebration will conclude with a traditional fireworks display at 9:30pm.

The lineup of entertainment acts include:

Band (to be announced) - 5:00 - 6:00

The Newz - Rock / Top 40 - 6:00pm-9:30pm

Fireworks: 9:30pm
